Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Seasons Weekend for?

Seasons is designed with both men and women in mind. It is for anyone and everyone who desires spiritual growth and rest for their soul. Our team is comprised of both men and women and our attendees reflect a good mix. Often a couple will attend the weekend together when they are both seeking growth. While this can be meaningful and helpful, it is not required.

Is Seasons Weekend affiliated with any denomination?

Seasons is an independent, non-denominational, non-profit 501c3 organization. We are

established as a religious organization by the IRS, but hope the term "religious" would not keep

anyone from attending. We believe in God as Author and Creator, in Jesus the Christ as his

likeness and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We welcome people of all creeds and every

background. We believe, as St. Augustine eloquently stated in 300AD, "In essentials, unity;

in doubtful matters, liberty; in all things, charity."

I'd like to bring my kids. Is that an option?

We do welcome adult children over the age of 18 that desire to participate in their own

spiritual growth. However, because each weekend is designed to be a time of reflection,

growth and contemplation, we ask that participants make other arrangements for their

younger children.

I cannot afford to attend a Seasons Weekend. Is there financial aid available?

Yes, there is financial aid available. Because we are a non-profit organization we raise money to provide scholarships for attendees who need financial assistance. We are able to provide full scholarships and partial scholarships according to need and resources available. Applications are available online at SeasonsWeekend.com. There is a limited time period before each weekend that we accept applications, so please check for dates and deadlines.

I don’t know what to expect. What can you tell me about the weekend?

Designed to be different from large-scale, highly produced conferences, our weekends are less about information and more about involvement. You can expect a small (75 people or less) intimate gathering with an intentionally slower pace and casual atmosphere.

The weekend offers rich and practical content woven together with music, story, and experiences with art and drama—in a beautiful setting, with a community of peers and a whole lot of laugher. The weekend offers plenty of time for connection as well as contemplation. There are four general sessions, optional afternoon electives on Saturday and two shared meals during the weekend that provide fellowship around the table as well as the opportunity to connect informally with the leadership team.  Each weekend is an unforgettable, uplifting, time of reflection and renewal.

How do you determine the ticket price for a Seasons Weekend?

Simple. We add up all the costs (hotel, food, meeting space, travel costs for the team, simple audio/visual components and small honorariums) and then we divide that number by our estimated number of participants. Then we freak out at how expensive it would be to price it that way and we lower the cost and work to raise funds to cover the rest!  We could make the weekend much less expensive if we provided bunk bed accommodations with 6 roommates, but that wasn’t our vision.

We know it might seem expensive to attend our weekend, but it’s important to us that you know that the ticket price does not cover the expenses of the weekend. We have done extensive research into other events and while we acknowledge our price may put us out of reach for some, we are confident there is not another weekend that includes 2 nights of hotel/2 meals and the event ticket for the price we offer.

However, it is also not our vision that finances stand in the way of any person that would like to participate, so we offer a range of financial assistance (see financial aid question above) to further offset the cost of the weekend.
